Exhaustion in the Literal Sense…

by Seventh on Jan.24, 2009, under Thoughts, Travel, Update

This week has been the figurative “power hour” of my job with everhting due all at once both at work and in life.  Work wise I worked 23 hours on Tuesday, 12 on Wednsday,  14 on Thursday, 8 on Friday and between yesterday and today I really lost count.  I drove quite a ways with the feeling like I could not stay awake but some how I always manage to and I am not talking about feeling tired but being physically left with nothing.  And yet there in lies the issue, I get home and I am awake, sleepy but I can not sleep.  So here I am trolling the myspace and listing to War of Ages on Pandora.com.  I am also instilling the beta of Windows 7 on my UMPC (Samsung Q1 Ultra) aka my small but handy touchscreen PC and reading up on what to do if it fails on the install….  but seriously my experience with vista denotes caution. Shreveport Time Lapse Pt 2

by Seventh on Oct.18, 2008, under Gadgets, Travel

So this week I was in Shreveport again to do a interview and I happened to get a better view for some time lapse. The irritating thing is that around 6AM my batteries died on my Canon XSi and I lost what would have been the best part of the time lapse. So it has been noted that I need a grip, or in laymen terms a huge battery pack that fits on the bottom of my camera to allow A/C power and multiple batteries. (continue reading…)

Back in town Again

by Seventh on Oct.03, 2008, under Travel, Update

Well, whew, what a week(s) as I am inally home for what I hope will be a few weeks before I have to head back out to louisiana again. I was in Shreveport last night and have to get to a interview today but now that I am done with that I can get some rest. I have a meeting with my employees tomorrow and after that I am hopeing to take the next few days off as I deserve them, really I do.

But in the mean time I have a DSLR comtroller I am testing for my laptop so that I can take some cool time lapse photos. I have been taking my canon XSi every where with me and have been taking a ton of pictures to test it out and it preforms great. I was looking for a camera that can take as good pictures as my old Pentax could and it preforms great.

Well off to play some pool and then to play some fooseball…. (continue reading…)

Busy like a bee or… busy… insects.

by Seventh on Dec.07, 2007, under Thoughts, Travel

Wow lately I have been pretty busy since I got back from Chicago so I have had limited time to update my weblog.  My hard drive that holds my Windows OS crashed a few days ago so I went ahead and moved everthing to Vista Business and it is running great compared to the last time I had worked with it on my desktop.  Some issues I had before where with Nvidia SLI and they have some great stable driver that are working well now.

Note:  Having a second hard drive for all of your content is something that every one should do.  I saved myself so much time with having all my music, pictures, files and downloaded content on my second drive.  As soon as I installed Vista and installed all of the updates and had the OS update all my hardware I was up and running.

I have been working on a new myspace profile for the winter months as well as a new weblog skin to replace the one that I currently have just to keep it interesting.  Plus with my continuous use of the software my artwork is getting better and I am able to make designs much quicker than I had in the past.  New wallpapers soon as well for desktops and the Zune.

More later off to get some things taken care of as I have to go to Kenner, Louisiana tomorrow.

The Days fly by when you live out of a Hotel.

by Seventh on Oct.27, 2007, under Thoughts, Travel

I have been in Oakbrook Terrace, IL for the last week training and getting to know the corporate office. It has been fun and informative the entire time I have been here. I really was not sure what to expect as I have very little experience as to how the people in the office communicate versus how they do in the field. By far was I brought into the “circle” and accepted rather quickly and I was able to really get to know quite a few people. Today though I am going to go explore Oakbrook Terrace and the Surrounding areas, mainly Downtown Chicago. The company was kind enough to lend me the office HHR and myself and another guy I have been training with are going to go be the average tourists. So far we have planned checking out the Sears Tower and Lake Michigan, as well as anything that we find to be interesting in between. I think we are going to try to get as much of that done both today and tomorrow as Monday we begin another week of training until the second of November which is when I shall return home. Wow time flys… When you are working 80 hour weeks!

by Seventh on Sep.30, 2007, under Travel

It is true I have been all over the place (literally) this last 3 weeks or so and every time that I think about writing in my weblog I get shuffled off some where else. I got a call on a Monday three weeks ago that my job needed me in Dallas on Tuesday so I ran home and packed and got a good nights sleep. After awaking at some unnaturally early time of day I began my 4 hour commute to Dallas and after arriving in Dallas then turned east and headed to Tyler, TX to help do installs out there. Woot.Yeah, Traveling is Fun So after this type of running and gunning I made it home on a Sunday evening to begin an enjoyable two days off. After washing all of my clothing on Tuesday, as I rested and did nothing on Monday, and attended a meeting for work I went home to do more of nothing. After wasting the day and retiring early in the evening I awoke to a phone call instructing me to pack my bags and head to Dallas again. Woot x 2. Mind you I get paid per mile so the $ is nice but the driving gets old sometimes.

Waiting on a plane…

by Seventh on Aug.23, 2007, under Thoughts, Travel

So I am getting on a plane to come back to Houston here in the next hour and I have about on hour layover in Tampa, FL.  Looks like I am going to be getting a few new shot glasses and other suveneers.  I also got some new paint ball equipment as there are alot of paint ball stores in North Carolina.  I got a new barrel for my gun as well as a replacement valve for the trigger assembly.  I think I will try to get that put on when I get home today at around  3:25 PM CST.  That is as long as my flights do not get delayed.  Well more later as I am going to try to stand in the line for my boarding group, woo hoo.  Boo
