Exhaustion in the Literal Sense…

This week has been the figurative “power hour” of my job with everhting due all at once both at work and in life. Work wise I worked 23 hours on Tuesday, 12 on Wednsday, 14 on Thursday, 8 on Friday and between yesterday and today I really lost count. I drove quite a ways with the feeling like I could not stay awake but some how I always manage to and I am not talking about feeling tired but being physically left with nothing. And yet there in lies the issue, I get home and I am awake, sleepy but I can not sleep. So here I am trolling the myspace and listing to War of Ages on Pandora.com. I am also instilling the beta of Windows 7 on my UMPC (Samsung Q1 Ultra) aka my small but handy touchscreen PC and reading up on what to do if it fails on the install…. but seriously my experience with vista denotes caution.
The upgrade portion has taken about an hour so far and besides two reboots it has been smooth so far and I am really hoping that it will work with the Q1 hardware and touchscreen. I am hoping that it increases the speed some from the vista edition that came on it as I use it for both GPS and a remote for my Canon XSi. Since I had Vista on there originally I am betting that the majority of the drivers are windows 7 compatible and if not they can be found easily. 32% left to go and them I am heading out for a while, I am always gone that when I get back I feel the need to go do something because I am never around. 34% and my wireless mouse works again.
I am working on a few other projects like a logo for a school, which sadly enough does not look good with metal band type. That is a bit more of a challenge for me because it is a lot more unique that a metal logo or flier which I have been doing for long enough to know well. Schools have to be proper and then also fit the criteria that the school wants, so no flames or bleeding skulls (I hear it frightens the children). 40% and it is still creeping slowly into an install…
Well I want to wait for the Q1 to finish but this is slower than I even though it was capable of for a upgrade on a UMPC that has 3 applications installed on it besides Microsoft software. One is Trillian Astra Beta, my camera remote software and the Canon RAW format decoder… so really not that much. The rest of the hard drive is left empty for when I go take time lapse and use 25 gigs in a nite or 8 hour shot.
It is worth noting that yes I have taken forever to write all this out as my ADD makes it hard to keep focus and my exaustion is getting to me.
I need a shower, back later, much later….
