My Evil plan to Save the World….

by Seventh on Mar.12, 2008, under Bands, Thoughts

*Hum Hum * Some old song some one must have heard of….

So updates, as I have had alot of coffee and probably won’t be able to sleep anytime soon anyway and I am jamming some old FIF (Five Iron Frenzy).  I haven’t listened to them in ages and I own all of there CD’s minus one I think, though I am not sure.  I like to listen to music from different times in my life because it brings back memories from years prior.  I think I was listening to FIF when I was in Jr. High going into High School when I lived in California, ah the memories and 70 degree weather.  Back in the old ’97.  I wonder if everyone has the same reaction to music that was important in certain stages in life.  I distinctly remember first getting turned onto FIF in 1997 on a trip to the desert, I believe it was Joshua Tree National Forest and I think I still have pictures some where.  When I listen to the songs I can remember the desert air, blue sky, crisp breath and the sandy rocks that we where climbing.  I remember it like it was yesterday though I haven’t had time to remember in a while.  I always liked exploring and I guess that is the same reason why on some days off I just go driving with the windows down and try to take everything in.  Things like the smell, wind, sounds of different places that I have never been before.  I have no idea how I have gotten into this old memories kick but I was not like this earlier, it has to be the music.  Or did I put on the music that I knew would help trigger the felling of then…emo.

I need to actually write out these blogs before I just start typing what ever comes into my brain.

In other news I was in San Antonio again for work and they where kind enough to put me up in the river walk.  It was alot of fun meeting all my other peers in my area and getting to drink with them.  It is far easier to learn about people when you have been drinking though I think I have made a name for myself as a “fun” guy.  Every meeting I go to I seem to have this “fun” reputation about me and I think I counted the saying “lasers scare me” at some point during that trip.  On the work side of things I learned alot and had alot of interfacing with the peers and got to learn different perspective as to how I operate on a daily basis.  Positives from that trip:

Meet other ROS’s.
Learn about new things coming up.
Get drunk enough to quit smoking :)

So yeah smoking a ton of menthols after 11 jager shots and waking up will be a great solution to the whole smoking “issue” goes away.  I think the official day of quitting was the first of March, so I am almost onto the third week of quitting and I have no need for them.  I am proud of myself though I think I have a long time to go before anyone I know will actually belive me as I have quit so many time before, and failed.

I do like this whole writing thing and I should do it more often, really, it is a good way to get all the grey stuff out of my brain before it explodes.

Though having a non scripted blog means that I tend to jump topics, sorry but the warning came to late if you made it this far.

I have been working on a few side projects as usual.

ragingapathy.net – Images and such, hmm I need to get those stickers done…!
thecoreministry.org – Formatting and pretty much all of the back end stuff minus the template.

And a song I like and have forgotten just came across media player from the album Upbeats & Beatdowns – “Cool Enough for You”, ah ska how I miss you.

To the spellcheker Batman.

*BAM*

Posed!

My posts usually have the excuse “busy” some where in them.

by Seventh on Feb.19, 2008, under Thoughts

I don’t know why but I use that excuse far to often even though I have been busy, I think that lazy is the proper word.  I have had quite a bit of things going on lately:

Work, Work, Work, Computer Games, Bands, and Design Projects.

So for topic one, Work.  Somehow after I became salary my job requires that I work more hours, wha?  Yes, I think there is some plot to get a person to try just hard enough to get a better position in a company and then get them to give away there hourly rate.  I like what I make but it just seems that I wasn’t making as much as I was before with overtime.  Oh well, it keeps me from being bored.

On the computer games front, I have found myself playing alot more games than I usually do, namely World of Warcraft and EVE Online.  Also a good boredom eliminator and plus my room mate plays so I have some one to play with (I feel that the last sentence reverted me to second grade).

Beyond that I have just been keeping up with band fliers and logos for my friends band “Raging Apathy”.  I also have been working on a few other projects that once complete I will post about.

On the Technology front, I now have a Q1 Ultra UMPC and I love it.  It is a demon spawn of a PDA and a Tablet PC but it = happy.

More at a future date when I can read and write better :)

Wow time flys… When you are working 80 hour weeks!

by Seventh on Sep.30, 2007, under Travel

It is true I have been all over the place (literally) this last 3 weeks or so and every time that I think about writing in my weblog I get shuffled off some where else. I got a call on a Monday three weeks ago that my job needed me in Dallas on Tuesday so I ran home and packed and got a good nights sleep. After awaking at some unnaturally early time of day I began my 4 hour commute to Dallas and after arriving in Dallas then turned east and headed to Tyler, TX to help do installs out there. Woot.Yeah, Traveling is Fun So after this type of running and gunning I made it home on a Sunday evening to begin an enjoyable two days off. After washing all of my clothing on Tuesday, as I rested and did nothing on Monday, and attended a meeting for work I went home to do more of nothing. After wasting the day and retiring early in the evening I awoke to a phone call instructing me to pack my bags and head to Dallas again. Woot x 2. Mind you I get paid per mile so the $ is nice but the driving gets old sometimes.

by Seventh on Sep.06, 2007, under Bands, Design

Dougs Myspace DesignSo I have been keeping myself busy lately by doing things such as going to see my friends band play at Fit’s in Houston for a battle of the bands, they rocked the house even though some emo band took the win, sad. You can check them out at thier myspace page “Raging Apathy”  They will also be playing at Scout Bar on September the 12th so if you are in the Houston / Clear Lake area be there.
